Spa & Gym Facilities at Downe

Both the Gym and the Spa are spacious, light and airy. The Gym is equipped with aerobic equipment, free weights, an exercise bench and exercise mats and has a relation area. The Spa includes a sauna, a spa bath and a steam room and a relaxation area. The facilities are available from 8.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m.

The gym is located in the Atlantic Room and has views across fields out to Hartland Point and Lundy Island. (Lundy Island is where the Atlantic meets the Bristol Channel.)

French windows from the gym lead out to a raised patio area with tables and chairs looking out to Lundy Island.

The aerobic equipment includes a Tread Mill, a Stepper, a Cross Trainer, Exercise Cycle, Recumbent Exercise Cycle (which are all Life Fitness Equipment) and a Concept 11 Rowing Machine. There is is in addition an Exercise Stability Ball, an Ab Trainer and two sets of Free Weights together with an exercise bench and exercise mats.

Sweat Towels are provided for visitors to use in the Gym.

The spa is a dedicated spa facility containing a Sauna, a Spa Bath and a Steam Room with a Lounging Area looking out across the Lily Pool.

Spa Towels are provided for visitors to use in the Spa.

The cost of using the Gym and Spa Facilities is included within the cottage rental.

Because there are so few cottages at Downe, visitors using the Leisure Facilities are frequently the only visitors using the facilities at any one time.

The result of all of the above is that the Leisure Facilities make a superb addition to every holiday at Downe.
