Our Cottages are situated on The Hartland Peninsula, part of the North Devon Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
This video captures what we see when we think of Downe: the old farmhouse, the cottages and the leisure centre clustered together in an island of green fields edged by the blue of the Atlantic Ocean. It is magical.
To the west lies the Atlantic Ocean, and to the north lies Lundy Island. All around, peaceful farmland runs down to the dramatic cliffs that shape this unspoilt corner of North Devon.
From Downe, guests can step straight out into the landscape. Footpaths lead through fields and quiet lanes to the South West Coast Path, where miles of spectacular walking await the visitor along the rugged coastline, with wide skies, sea views and the ever-changing light of the Atlantic.
