The kitchen is a fully equipped and fitted modern kitchen (including a dishwasher). The ground floor has two original oak beams running from front to back that create a lovely atmosphere to the cottage.
The bedroom has a double bed and a single bed. It has two bedside tables, a chest of drawers, a fitted wardrobe and a three quarters length mirror hung on the wall. There are two large window lights that give the feel of sleeping under the stars on a clear night.
Japonica looks out into a small courtyard area. The area is gravelled and bounded by a low stone wall. The inner courtyard looks out to a central stone circle within the larger courtyard formed by the cottages and Downe House.
