Fresh air, timeless scenery and luxury cottages, are these part of your travel plans? If so, Downe Cottages on the North Devon coast could be the ideal spot. They are located on the Hartland Peninsula, an area that beckons walkers and cyclists alike, with footpaths and single-track lanes from countryside to cliffside. Jeremy and Lynda Roe are the charming and knowledgeable hosts who welcome each visitor as an old friend.
The cottages have been transformed from Victorian barns to luxury accommodation, with mod cons as well as rustic charms well stocked and cozy. To put your feet up in front of a wood-burning fireplace with a glass of wine is a holiday right there! Children are welcome – there are over seven acres of grounds to explore and a massive video library to plunder if there’s a rainy day. The seafront in Hartland was a favourite of ours as well as the children, who splashed around and watched the waves crashing in.
